DJ Vietnaam, Tony and Myggan are behind many of those nights that just don’t want to end. We asked a few quick questions about music, energy and the people behind the booth and got a glimpse of a dynamic built on instinct, respect, and one clear rule: never play the same track twice.
How would you describe your DJ style in three words?
Myggan: Fun, upbeat, festive
Tony: Joy, rhythm, dance
DJ Vietnaam: Playful, quirky, sharp
What’s your signature track – the one that says “this is me”?
Tony: Sister Sledge – Thinking of You
DJ Vietnaam: Gwen McCrae – Funky Sensation
Myggan: Armand Van Helden – You Don’t Know Me (feat. Duane Harden)
What’s the best part about playing at Spesso?
They all agree it’s the vibe and the crowd. The mix of people, energy, and setting just works. No matter who’s on, it clicks. And that’s the feeling you keep coming back for.
How do you know what the crowd needs in the moment?
It’s all about experience. Over time, it turns into a kind of sixth sense a mix of timing, instinct, and reading the room without thinking too much. You hear it, you feel it and when it clicks, the whole place moves.
How are you different musically – and what unites you?
Tony: “Good question… we can be quite similar, but our choices still set us apart.”
DJ Vietnaam: “It’s our musical range and how we approach the mix technically.”
They take different paths, but follow the same compass. From disco and funk to soul, house, and unexpected gems. What brings it all together is feeling, flow, and a shared goal: to make people move, smile, and stay a little longer.
If the three of you were a playlist – what would it be called?
Good Life or Love Unlimited Orchestra
Any unspoken rules when you’re playing the same night?
Just one: don’t play the same track.
Everything else is fair game.
How do you inspire each other?
It often starts with something simple like hearing one of the others play. A well-placed track, an unexpected mix, or a casual conversation before the set. That’s usually enough to spark something. It’s not about showing off, it’s about listening, learning and pushing each other in the best way.
What’s the key to making people genuinely enjoy themselves?
It all comes down to balance. Sound, music, crowd, and energy. The right track at the right time, a room that feels alive, and maybe a drink that makes the moment last a little longer. But above all, it’s about reading the vibe and knowing exactly where to take it.
Music, lights or people – what sets the tone first?
All three agree: it always starts with the music.
What’s the one track you drop to blow the room up?
Myggan: Donell Pitman – Love Explosion
Tony: It depends, but Gloria Jones – Tainted Love usually works.
DJ Vietnaam: For me, it’s all about the crowd.
